Army acts against two officers over J&K Fake encounter case

Breaking News: A day before PM Man Mohan Singh's visit to Kashmir, an Indian army officer was suspended and another Colonel was removed being allegedly involved in the killing of three Muslim civilians in a fake encounter in April.
The two army officers Major Upinder and Col. D.K. Pathania, Commanding Officer of 4 Rajput Regiment had killed three youths claiming them as Pakistani terrorists at Machil sector in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 30.
The dead Mohamad Shafi, Shehzad Ahmed and Riyaz Ahmed were all residents of Nadihal in Baramulla district but by mistake entered to the border area. According to the chief of the Northern Command Lt. Gen. B S Jaiswal, two accused have been suspended and out respectively after police filed the report.
The Indian authorities have ordered for an inquiry into the incident that will be based on transparency and truth. The action was done after J&K CM Omar Abdullah met senior officials of the Army and police at a meeting on Sunday.
