Lok Satta backs demand for new districts Posted: 10 Feb 2012 06:23 AM PST The Lok Satta Party supports the demand for creation of more districts in Andhra Pradesh, said its President Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan today. Pointing out that Andhra Pradesh has many large districts geographically, Dr. JP said the time has come for splitting large districts to make administration accessible and empower people through decentralization. He was talking to leaders of Siddipet District Forum who represented to him on the need for constitution of Siddipet district. Dr. JP recalled that only three new districts have been formed after Andhra Pradesh came into existence. Supporting the Siddipet district demand, Dr. JP said that the Government should study which mandals of Medak, Karimnagar, Warangal and Nalgonda districts should be included in the proposed district. Siddipet District Forum Convener Vanga Ramachandra Reddy and Coordinator Thummanapalli Srinivas led the delegation.
